To further strengthen the interdisciplinary integration of “Textile + Smart,” a delegation of the Party and administrative leadership from the College of Textiles visited the School of Information and Intelligent Science (hereinafter referred to as “SIIS”) on March 3 for research and exchange. Vice President Lu Weibing attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was attended by the Party and administrative leadership team members, office directors, full-time Party affairs cadres, and relevant professor representatives from both colleges. The meeting was chaired by Wang Zhijie, Party Secretary of SIIS.

At the meeting, Vice President Lu Weibing commended the two colleges for their exploratory efforts in interdisciplinary integration centered on “Textile + Smart.” He pointed out that it is necessary to bravely break down barriers, actively explore the establishment of a future-oriented interdisciplinary center, and facilitate the flow of innovation factors. He emphasized focusing on key tasks, forming substantive cross-disciplinary and cross-college research teams driven by national strategies and major industrial needs, and conducting organized research. He also called for building a cultural consensus, fostering a favorable environment for talent development and scientific research, and cultivating a team spirit that supports external collective action and internal collaborative problem-solving. He stressed that the university will continue to optimize institutional guarantees, promote cross-disciplinary innovation to a higher level, and help the university’s high-quality development get off to a good start during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Wang Fujun, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Textiles (presiding over work), stated that the College will anchor its future disciplinary layout, focus on three major interdisciplinary directions of “Textile + Artificial Intelligence / Integrated Circuits / Life and Health,” and build a high-standard interdisciplinary center. Wang Xianfeng, Vice Dean of the College of Textiles, delivered a special report titled “Warp-Weft Intelligent Integration for a Shared Future,” in which he elaborated on how the college will deepen the interdisciplinary integration of “Textile + Smart” and promote mutual development from the perspectives of Party building, disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and scientific research. Chang Shan, Vice Dean of the School of Information and Intelligent Science (SIIS), focused on the implementation scenarios of “Textile + Smart.” Leveraging the school’s technological advantages in artificial intelligence, big data, and intelligent control, she shared insights around specific interdisciplinary intersections, providing concrete directions for cross-disciplinary technology integration.
This event served as a vivid example of promoting the deep integration of Party building and professional work, and built a platform for joint talent cultivation and collaborative research innovation between the two colleges. In the future, the two colleges will engage in in-depth cooperation across multiple areas, including Party building, talent cultivation, and scientific research, jointly exploring the cultivation of industry-oriented interdisciplinary talents and the construction of a future-oriented interdisciplinary center, and striving to contribute the strength of the colleges to the high-quality development of Donghua University during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
