2025-09-05

On September 5, Donghua University welcomed a delegation from Accademia della Moda Italy, led by President Michele Lettieri, along with International Office Director Massimo Cipolloni and Academic Director Giuseppina Auricchio. They were warmly received by Vice President Chen Ge, with representatives from DHU's International Office and the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation in attendance.

Chen Ge introduced Donghua University's educational features, disciplinary structure, and development plans, sharing the institution's achievements in integrating industry and education in key fields such as smart textiles and green materials. He emphasized the university's commitment to open education and its strategy of leveraging disciplinary strengths to expand its global partnership network, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the global textile and fashion industry. He specifically mentioned the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two institutions last year, which laid a solid foundation for collaboration, and expressed hope for deepened mutual understanding and expanded cooperation to jointly promote high-quality development of both universities.

Michele Lettieri noted that as an institution dedicated to cultivating talent in the fashion industry, Accademia della Moda has always regarded international exchange and cooperation as central to its development. He expressed great appreciation for the collaborative potential with Donghua University in areas such as fashion design and industry integration, and hoped to explore new models of cooperation to inject fresh vitality into talent development in the fashion field.

It is reported that Accademia della Moda was one of the earliest contemporary art and design institutions approved by the Italian Ministry of Education. It is also a partner institution in the Sino-Italian ‘Turandot’ educational exchange program and, like Donghua University, a cooperating entity with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
