Donghua University Hosted the 4th International Conference on Advanced Science and Technology in Textiles.

From July 5 to 6, the 4th International Conference on Advanced Science and Technology in Textiles, hosted by Donghua University, was held in Songjiang, Shanghai. With the theme of “Textile Technology Weaving a Healthy Life,” the conference brought together more than 200 representatives from eight countries and regions, including China, France, Canada, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, to exchange ideas and discuss cutting-edge trends, research hotspots, and the latest developments in textiles.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Chen Ge stated that scientific and technological innovation has always been the core driving force behind industrial transformation. Currently, with the accelerated advancement of global digitalization and intelligentization, the textile industry is at a critical juncture of transformation and upgrading. This conference should fully leverage the advantages of the ‘textiles & fashion’ disciplinary cluster to serve the economic development of the nation, industry, and local regions. It is also hoped that this opportunity will be used to integrate cutting-edge international technologies and advanced concepts, contributing Donghua's wisdom to the innovative development of the global textile industry. Dean Tan Xiaohong of the Textile College and Director Gu Bohong of the Shanghai Modern Textile Frontier Science Research Base delivered opening remarks, while Vice Dean Wang Xianfeng of the Textile College hosted the opening ceremony.

In the conference reports, Professor Lizhuang Ma from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Keqin Zhang from Soochow University, Professor Ze Zhang from Laval University, Professor Jintu Fan from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Professor Frederic Heim from the University of Upper Alsace delivered insightful academic presentations on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, thermal energy recovery, smart wearable technology, and biomaterials.


It is reported that the International Conference on Frontier Science and Technology in Textiles has been held for four consecutive years. The conference aims to stimulate innovative ideas and spark new thinking through exchanges among peers from different disciplines and fields.
