On the afternoon of June 4, the training workshop on cotton processing, textile and trade in developing countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by Wuhan Textile University, opened at the Sunshine Campus. Twenty-seven government officials, enterprise representatives and industry experts from seven countries, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Jordan, South Africa and Mali, gathered together to start a 14-day training trip. Jichen delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and introduced the breakthrough achievements made by Wuhan Textile University in the fields of textile material science, intelligent manufacturing, and green printing and dyeing relying on the national specialties and provincial and ministerial key laboratories. He pointed out that cotton textile industry, as an important pillar of global trade, is a key industry for developing countries to realize industrialization and create employment. The workshop is organized to build a platform for technical exchanges and industrial cooperation, to help developing countries enhance the level of cotton processing and textile trade, and to jointly promote the sustainable development of the global textile industry.

Afterwards, Safarali Saivaliev, a senior expert of Tajikistan's light industry and sericulture, and Simo Matomela, head of South Africa's Sinothando Sewing Company, spoke one after another as representatives of the participants. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Commerce as well as Wuhan Textile University for the valuable learning opportunities provided, and highly valued the achievements of China's textile industry in technological innovation and industry chain integration. They said that developing countries have great potential in the textile market, and hoped that through this training, they could deepen the South-South cooperation with China, promote technology transfer and industrial upgrading, and realize mutual benefit and win-win situation.

The workshop lasts for 14 days, and the participants will systematically learn the advanced experience of China's cotton processing and textile trade through various forms such as special lectures, case study seminars and enterprise visits. The course covers topics such as research and development of new textile materials, innovative application of cotton textile technology, technological development of new textile materials, etc. Famous experts from inside and outside the university were invited to give lectures.
During the training period, the staff of Aid Project Management Center will also organize the participants to visit Fuzhou Hengshen Holding Group Co., Ltd, Hangang Knitting Hunan Town Company, Jinyuan Textile Co., Ltd, Jinlun High Fiber Co. Ltd., Fujian Times Nebula Technology Co.Ltd., Fujian Yongfu Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Fujian SeaLion Group Co., Ltd. to inspect the latest development achievements of China's textile industry, and to experience the vigorous vitality and innovative energy of China's textile industry in an all-round way.
