On November 24, the launch ceremony of npj Soft Matter was held at the Songjiang Campus of DHU. Wu Peiyi, dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering as well as the founding editor-in-chief of the journal, attended and delivered a speech. Over 30 experts and scholars in the field of gel materials were invited to witness the ceremony.

Wu Peiyi stated that npj Soft Matter will cover research directions such as soft matter, soft materials, and biomaterials, and aims to establish a high-level open-access journal under the Nature Portfolio platform. As the founding editor-in-chief, he will adhere to a rigorous academic attitude and high-quality publishing standards, and strive to publish innovative and forward-looking research works in the field. He sincerely invited the attending experts to submit their manuscripts and contribute to the advancement of academic progress and the development of the soft matter discipline.

Liu Bo, executive publisher of the Nature Partner Journals (npj) series and regional executive editor of Nature Portfolio in China, presented a certificate to Wu Peiyi. During the event, he introduced the overview of the Nature series journals, the peer-review process, and the techniques for writing scientific papers from an editor's perspective. He also detailed how editors screen and handle manuscripts during the review process.
