On the morning of October 20, Donghua University (DHU) and Tsinghua University (THU) successfully held the launch event for China’s first fiber large knowledge model, AlphaFiber 1.0, in Songjiang, Shanghai.
AlphaFiber is the first large model in the field of fiber knowledge in China. Its development is the result of cross-disciplinary collaboration between DHU and THU, combining data resources from DHU's School of Materials Science and the National Key Laboratory of Fiber Material Modification with computational support from Jiangsu Jicui Advanced Fiber Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. It was noted that AlphaFiber can help explain complex concepts in fiber science, expand teaching methods, and provide precise and personalized guidance for teachers and students, thereby driving a transformation in educational models.
This launch event is a significant occasion marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the materials discipline at DHU and the 30th anniversary of the founding of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. AlphaFiber not only represents strategic and forward-looking research in the fiber field but also showcases the innovative vitality of this domain. The successful hosting of the event marks the official debut of China’s first large language model in the field of fiber materials, AlphaFiber 1.0, and serves as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the materials discipline and the 30th anniversary of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at DHU.
