Recently, the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Joint Conference held its tenth meeting and celebrated its tenth anniversary, launching the selection process for the 2024 Outstanding Individual Award for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education. During this event, Li Jun from Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, Donghua University (hereinafter referred to as SCF College), was honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in recognition of his efforts in promoting the cooperative education initiatives at SCF College.
Established in August 2014 and guided by the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Ministry of Education, the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Joint Conference aims to unite the strengths of institutions engaged in Sino-foreign cooperative education, promote high-quality development in this field, and play an important role in advancing the modernization of higher education in China.
Over the past ten years, SCF College has focused on talent cultivation by rooting in China while drawing on international experience. Centered around fashion creativity, SCF College integrates Donghua University's strengths in materials, textiles, management, and other disciplines, featuring innovative fusion in design and management. It has adopted the Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) model and a project-based research teaching system from the UK, aligning Chinese courses with UK courses based on a professional knowledge and skills map. This collaboration has led to the establishment of an Umbrella Curriculum (UC) project-based teaching team that addresses sustainable development issues in the international fashion industry.
SCF College aims to cultivate T-shaped innovative talents who possess interdisciplinary capabilities across the entire industry chain, including craftsmanship, design, marketing, and communication, while also having in-depth professional knowledge. This model effectively complements the strengths of both Chinese and British educational approaches, significantly enhancing students' ability to apply their knowledge and skills comprehensively. SCF College has received various domestic and international awards, including the China-Scotland Business Education Innovation Award and the GREEN CHALLENGE Sustainable Fashion Innovation Award, earning recognition for its educational quality from various sectors of society.
