On June 6th, the signing and unveiling ceremony for the Donghua-Taihua Joint Innovation Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Innovation Research Institute) was held at Donghua University's Songjiang campus. Vice President Chen Ge, Party Secretary of the School of Materials Science and Engineering Li Binrong, President of Taihua New Materials Shen Weifeng, General Manager of Jiahuan Nylon Gao Ling, Executive Deputy General Manager Shen Junchao, and others attended. Heads of relevant university departments and representatives of faculty and students were also present. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Yanan, Director of the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Office of the Institute of Science and Technology Research.
Chen Ge welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude for Taihua New Materials' long-term concern and support for the university's development. He expressed hope that through close collaboration, both parties could continuously deepen research and innovation, produce original designs, and cultivate professional talent, thereby contributing significantly to the development of the new materials field in China. He hopes this partnership can become a model for university-enterprise cooperation, driving more industry-academia projects to take root and flourish, especially in playing a crucial role in the development of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.

Chen Ge and Shen Weifeng jointly unveiled the Joint Innovation Research Institute.
Shen Weifeng expressed his hope that the Joint Innovation Research Institute would serve as the main platform for organizing and implementing various action plans, aiming to build it into a specialized and innovative research institute for nylon materials in China. This would set a benchmark for R&D in the Chinese nylon materials industry, address and strengthen gaps in the field, and help Taihua New Materials become a world-leading company in green multifunctional nylon fibers and high-end functional fabrics.
Liao Yaozu, Vice Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, gave an introduction to the background of the Joint Innovation Research Institute and the school. Shen Junchao, Executive Deputy General Manager of Jiahuan Nylon, introduced the development status and future outlook of Taihua New Materials.

The newly unveiled Joint Innovation Research Institute will focus on the R&D of functional fiber materials, fabric technology development, new nylon fiber development, recycling technology, intelligent manufacturing technology, fashion design, and textile chemical innovation research. It will conduct interdisciplinary collaborative research, support continuous innovation in the functional fiber field, and promote comprehensive sharing and interaction of talent, technology, information, and resources between the university and enterprises.
