In order to promote education and research and contribute to the revitalization of the textile and apparel industry in Africa, the leaders of Donghua University (China) and Moi University (Kenya) decided in 2015 to organize an annual Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textile and Apparel (SAISTA), alternating between China and Kenya. SAISTA has successfully held eight sessions since the first in 2015, receiving recognition and support from experts and scholars home and abroad. Starting from 2016, to reinforce Sino-Africa people-to-people exchange and collaborations in social sciences, the Sino-Africa Cultural Exchange Forum (SACEF) has been added to SAISTA and held seven consecutive sessions, contributing to the friendly relationships between China and African countries. The symposium has not only strengthened academic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges and between China and Africa, but also contributed to the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
为了促进教育和研究，助推非洲纺织服装产业的振兴，东华大学（中国）和莫伊大学（肯尼亚）的领导于2015年决定每年举办一次中非纺织服装国际论坛，在中国和肯尼亚轮流举办。“中非纺织服装国际论坛”自2015年首次举办以来，至今已成功举办了八届会议，得到了国内外专家学者的认可和支持。自2016年起，为加强中非人文交流与社会科学领域的合作，促进中国与非洲国家之间的友好关系，“中非文化交流论坛”加入中非纺织服装国际论坛，并已连续举办了七届。论坛不仅加强了中非学术和人文交流与合作，也为推动建设“一带一路”和构建人类命运共同体作出了贡献。
The year 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of China-Kenya diplomatic relations. As part of the celebration, the 2023 SAISTA & SACEF will provide a platform for textile and apparel professionals from universities, research institutions and industries to promote cooperation between China and Africa and countries along the Belt and Road in textile and apparel education and research, explore potential opportunities for industry-university-research cooperation and build a platform for cultural exchange.
2023年是“一带一路”倡议提出10周年，也是中肯建交60周年两大重要纪念日。因此，作为庆祝活动之一，2023中非纺织服装国际论坛暨中非文化交流论坛将为来自高校、研究机构和行业的纺织服装专业人士提供一个平台，促进中国与非洲以及“一带一路”沿线国家在纺织服装教育和研究方面的合作，并探索潜在的产学研合作机会，搭建文化交流的平台。
The Symposium will be held from December 13 to 15, 2023 in Mombasa (Kenya). Experts and scholars who are interested in relevant topics of the conference are welcome to attend.
本次论坛将于2023年12月13日至15日在肯尼亚蒙巴萨举行，欢迎对会议相关议题有兴趣的专家学者参会。
