“Quality Requirements for Enamelled Cast Iron Cookwares” Formulated by DHU

 On December 31, 2021, the Announcement No. 17 of 2021 issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) released that the national standard formulated by DHU, GB/T 41166-2021 “Quality requirements for enamelled cast iron cookwares”, was approved and published. And it will be officially implemented on July 1, 2022. This national standard is implemented by the Glass and Enamel Articles Committee (TC397SC4) of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Materials and Articles in Contact with Foodstuff. Its competent department is China National Light Industry Council.


Cast iron enamel cookware not only has enamel materials’ characteristics like good chemical stability and easy cleaning, but also has the high heat capacity characteristics of cast iron materials. This product can be in direct contact with food and can be used under a high temperature heating, which is more and more popular with consumers. And in recent years, its production and export scale has developed rapidly. The formulation of this standard provides a comprehensive product inspection basis for domestic Cast iron enamel cookware enterprises, provides a solid technical support for the healthy and sound development of the industry, promotes the improvement of products quality, and efficiently guarantees the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
