He said that DHU would cultivate more fashion science and technology talents for the future, define fashion trends, base itself on the forefront of science and technology, and draw a blueprint for Shanghai to become a City of Designand a City of Fashionwith colors and digits. As a "Double First-Class" University and directly under the State Ministry of Education, DHU is also one of the universities entering China's "211 Project” and it enjoys a high social reputation in the fields of textile, materials and design. It is known that the design discipline of DHU is one of the 23 doctoral programs of design in first-level in China. In recent years, DHU has endeavored to strengthen the construction of design discipline, participated in the construction of IV-Class peak disciplines in Shanghai universities, promoted the integration of design concepts and design services into national and local industrial development, space environment, public services, people's life, urban brand and other dimensions, contributing wisdom and strength to the construction of Shanghai as a City of Design and a City of Fashion.
