The 2021 Belt and Road countries Advanced Seminar for Textile Industry International Cooperation Program, sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and organized by Donghua University, was held successfully from 5 July to 23 July. It was the fourth time Donghua University hosted the program. Over 20 international participants joined, either online or offline, among them were postgraduate students in textile or related majors, as well as industry professionals.

The online module aimed at consolidating the professional foundation, leading the knowledge frontier, broadening the academic vision, and improving the comprehensive capacity of participants in the scientific research. Prof. Martin W. King from North Carolina State University, Prof. Tao Xuyuan from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Ind, Prof. Gong Ronghua from The University of Manchester, together with other renowned experts and scholars gave online lectures.
The participants who joined the off-line program also visited famous companies and factories in textile, materials, and international trade with Professor Wang Hua of the College of Textile, Donghua University. During offline visits and workshops, participants experienced the emerging vitality of China's textile industry in the new era.

Cultural Experience in Shanghai
The program was hugely beneficial to the participants, according to their feedbacks. Saroj Karki, a Nepal alumnus graduated in 2005, said the program enabled him return to the university class, and learn about the academic and research frontier in the textile industry alongside his current work. Students who participated in the offline program said it was a great experience, from which they have enriched the knowledge, improved the understanding and broadened their horizons. They have also had a deeper understanding of Shanghai's urban features, as well as Chinese culture and spirit.
