Update in light of COVID-19 pandemic
Moi University and Donghua University wish to prioritize the safety and well-being of all potential participants and the citizens of Eldoret and Kenya. To this end, it is possible that the format of the Symposium will not be as originally planned and alternative arrangements should be made. The Symposium may, for instance, be held virtually. The international pandemic situation will be carefully monitored and reviewed. A final decision, based on official Governmental policies at the time, will be communicated no later than 31 May. In the meantime, the organizers want to send their best wishes to all colleagues and friends and their families. This is a very difficult time but we are sure we will emerge from this period with even deeper and stronger international friendships.
Background to SAISTA
China has the largest and most advanced textile industry in the world and, as such, wishes to support the development of industry in developing countries and those along the Road and Belt Region, especially Africa. Africa has a rich textile history but in recent years the significance and growth of its textile industry has been impeded by a number of factors, including capacity constraints relating to higher education opportunities, academic and practitioner expertise and science and engineering research facilities. In order to promote education and research to contribute to the revitalization of the African textile and apparel industry, the leaders of Donghua University, China, and Moi University, Kenya, decided in 2015 to organize an annual Sino-Africa symposium on Textiles and Apparel (SAISTA), alternating between China and Kenya or other African countries. The past events include SAISTA 2015 in Shanghai, China; SAISTA 2016 (the first Sino-Africa Cultural Exchange Forum, SACEF) in Mombasa, Kenya;
SAISTA & SACEF 2017 in Shanghai, China; SAISTA & SACEF 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and SAISTA & SACEF 2019 in Shanghai, China. Five conference proceedings have been published, which contain hundreds of papers contributing to the heated discussed topics in the fields.
Starting from 2016, the Sino-Africa Cultural Exchange Forum (SACEF) were added to SAISTA in order to reinforce Sino-Africa people-to-people exchange and collaborations in softer sciences, contributing to the friendly relationships between China and African countries. The objective of the Sixth Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textile and Apparel (SAISTA 2020) is to provide a platform for textile and apparel professionals from universities, research institutions and industry to promote collaboration between China and Africa in textile and apparel education and research as well as to explore potential business opportunities and cultural exchanges. SAISTA 2020 will be hosted jointly by Donghua University, China and Moi University, Kenya from August 11-13, 2020.
Objective of SAISTA
The objective of the Sixth Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textile and Apparel (SAISTA 2020) is to provide a platform for textile and apparel professionals from universities, research institutions and industry to promote collaboration between China and Africa in textile and apparel education and research as well as to explore potential business opportunities.

2. Requirements:
u Should include paper title, author(s), affiliation(s) and contact information
u Underline the Presenting Author
u 200 words in English
u All papers on this conference will be published in the proceedings.
3. Format of the full paper:
u The manuscript should be presented in the following order: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main body, Acknowledgments and References. The Presenting Author should be marked with underline. (see attached sample paper, articles with questionable formatting will be rejected)
u The full paper should be in the format of MS-word document in English.
u The full paper of general speeches should be no more than 3000 words (including title, author list, address, main text, acknowledgement and references) and 4
items of figures/tables/illustrations.
