Aalto  University was established in 2010 as three leading Finnish  universities, Helsinki University of Technology, one of Europe's leading  science and technology institutions, The University of Art and Design  Helsinki, the largest art institution in Northern Europe, and The  Helsinki School of Economics, the first business school in Europe, were merged. They are among the world's leaders in the fields of science, technology, art and economics.
